- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2012Six months ago, I bought the "Ironing Blanket" for my tabletop ironing board. I do not like the cover on the ironing board and thought this would be a better alternative! It works GREAT as this blanket gives the ironing board the extra cushion that we were seeking. It has held up but it will scorch as my daughter did not know that the one touch sensor was off on the iron so it scorched the blanket but it still works perfectly. We use the steam and mist from the iron on the blanket and it did not stain the blanket until the incident occurred with my daughter and the iron which is no reflection on the blanket. I just ordered my second "Ironing Blanket" because I might use it for crafting or perhaps a backup ironing blanket.
We do not have issues with the mat curling or laying flat because the blanket hangs over the ironing board but it still ours still does not curl. We did not have an odor and if things change with the second one, I will update my review!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2011The picture does not show what the foam padding looks like. Rest assured, it's just foam padding (keep out of reach of children/pets who will be probably find a way peel/chew/scratch it off and make it look ugly.) It will smell a bit when it's freshly out of the package, but of course, it loses that real quickly.
Cheap, does what it does, makes a slight crinkly noise when you roll it up, and super light.
Works like a charm and easy for travel when the hotels you book don't have a convenient place to iron your clothes.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2015This is a nice product. I like its light weight and fold down size (about an 8x8 square) for packing and traveling. I tested the product ironing on top of a countertop and yea, it slid around some, but certainly beats the towel method I've used for years.
Surface, as advertised, did not get hot, or even warm. It is large enough that the majority of the front/back of my blouse fit so I was not having to constantly reposition for ironing.
The Seller's description was good (except for some slipping on countertop) and prompt delivery ... very impressive. I do RECOMMEND this product and this Seller. I would buy again and recommend to fellow travelers.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2015This item is useful in that it does protect surfaces from the heat of an iron, but the upper and lower layers are only attached at the edges, so the layers are free to move relative to one another, which creates bulges and wrinkles, and it doesn't lie perfectly flat.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2024So great to not have to shlep out the entire ironing board.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2016When looking for a replacement I was surprised to see I purchased my existing mat (this one) in June 2010. Thanks AMAZON. Foam backing has begun to crumble (6 years). This one I will use for traction and stability when brushing my small pups. Let me advise that I do not actually iron much but touch up dry cleaned and professionally laundered clothes that have wrinkles from a tight closet or folding creases. I have also used for iron on patches. Max steam is not it's best friend but it has served my purpose well.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2010Sooo if you're planning on using this on business trips for your clothes or something along those lines, don't. They only reason I am not sending this back is because 1) it's not worth the price of shipping and 2) I can still use a corner of it for sewing little bags and such (small projects). It looks like a really bad baby-changing mat. There is waay too much material and no way to make it nice and flat. There are these huge wrinkles in it (and ironically enough you can't just iron them out!) as if they made it with too much material so that you could fold it up easily. Like I said, it's okay for the small projects that I do, but absolutely horrible for anything larger than a couple of inches.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2014This little iron does the job and is very concise. I suggest you not use the steam attribute and spray or sprinkle your clothes. Distilled water is still required as in all steam irons, but most of us are not willing to pack even small containers of distilled water on a trip. The pad that's recommended with it is ideal and can be places on any counter top without fear of damage. Of course, this iron must not be allowed to just sit with the hot side down, It tilt props just fine and is stable.
