Sliding needs to be prevented

Sliding needs to be prevented
My wife’s painful knees prevent her from using stationary riding exercise machines. This type is the only one she can use. However, she found the same peculiarity of the machine that others have noticed: it tends to slide away from the user, regardless of the type of surface on which it is used. We found a way to counter this problem by constructing a “frame” for the machine by using pieces of 2”x2” lumber, mounted on a piece of old desk chair mat (1/4” plywood or hardboard would also suffice. Sliding is prevented by another piece of lumber fastened to the mat behind the chair legs. The distance to the “frame” can be adjusted by adding or removing 1/4” shims. The pictures show the shims which were used in our case. This machine is her third; after awhile, pedals broke on the first two (.How about addressing this issue, Drive Medical?). Therefore, I recommend the optional maintenance agreement in this case.
