Victor Electronic Mouse Trap

Victor Electronic Mouse Trap

Say goodbye to unwanted mice with help from the Victor Electronic Mouse Trap. A convenient alternative to traditional snap traps, the Victor Electronic Mouse Trap kills mice within seconds using a high-voltage shock. The trap’s bait trough located along the back wall lures a mouse inside and onto the metal plates. Its advanced smart circuit technology senses the rodent and instantly delivers the shock for a quick, effective, and humane kill. The tunnel design and beveled columns hold the mouse in place, preventing escapes and ensuring a 100-percent kill rate.

The Electronic Mouse Trap kills one mouse per setting and up to 100 mice per set of four 'AA' batteries (not included). With each kill, the indicator light on top of the trap blinks green for up to seven days, and when the batteries run low and need replacing, the light will blink red. In addition to at-a-glance monitoring, the electronic mouse trap offers a hygienic, no-see, no-touch system. Simply flip the lid open and dump the mouse directly into the trash.

Victor Electronic Mouse Trap

Simple to Bait and Use

The Victor Electronic Mouse Trap is easy-to-use. Start by inserting four 'AA' batteries into the battery compartment and replacing the cover. Then, using a Q-tip or toothpick (to avoid leaving your scent), add an enticing snack like peanut butter or chocolate in the bait trough located along the back wall of the trap. Place the mouse trap in areas of noticeable activity or lengthwise along the wall with the entrance side closest to the wall, since rodents typically like to travel along the edge of a room. Flip the switch to 'on', and it’s good to go—a green light will blink once and a short buzzing sound will be heard to indicate it is functioning properly.

Designed for indoor use only, the Victor Electronic Mouse Trap provides years of effective rodent control—perfect for attics, garages, basements, and sheds. Safe for use around children and pets when used as directed, the trap is poison and chemical free. The built-in safety switch automatically deactivates the trap whenever the lid is open, and a unique tunnel shape prevents children and pets from reaching into the trap.

How to: 7 Easy Steps

1. Remove battery cover.

2. Insert 4 'AA' batteries.

3. Replace battery cover.

4. Bait the trap.

5. Place the trap along the wall.

6. Flip the switch to 'on'.

7. Easily empty rodent into the trash.

4 stars bc product is what it states it is but I don't know about effectiveness yet
At the time of purchase I had killed 2 mice 2 separate times using the Power Kill trap which was effective. I'd set it and get it the next day. We have a fireplace and it has a lot of spaces for mice to get through. I wanted to put this in the area believing it was the point of entry. I purchased one first but have the intention of purchasing 2 more, 1 for garage and other for deck but I don't think it'd be good for the outdoor deck considering it could get wet. I put it where I caught the last 2 mice which were in the same spot. Knock on wood I haven't had to catch one and I will not be mad if I never have to use the product real time. I am not sure if my setting put paper towels behind couches and in the fireplace (unused) with ammonia on them as well as the kitchen floors pantry area, helped deter them from coming in. That was the point. I've posted these pictures just to give a realistic version of the traps size although I am showing only through the original box. There are enough pics already of the box itself. I thought it would be a tad bigger than is. I wear a size 9 in the foot slide shown and have the box placed next to it for length comparison. The yellow box is how it comes packaged and is the extent of the instructions which were efficient. If I have to use it I will update this review. My nephew was playing around the area and his bouncy ball fell behind the couch area. He saw this electronic box and with apprehension and a little fear in his eyes, asked, "auntie if I accidentally touch that box is it going to zap me?" 😁😄😄 I love that he asked and I assured him it wouldn't but stressed it wasn't a toy and told him I'd never intentionally buy anything on purpose and is put it in his way that would zap him or hurt him. He wanted a mouse to come that night so he could witness the effectiveness 😏

    The story:
I woke up one day and on the kitchen floor I see some mouse poop! Oh no! So I start searching around and I see some in the pantry and in the bathroom and hallway and basically everywhere. "Where is the mouse coming into the house from". I have a brilliant idea of spreading flour all over the kitchen floor before bedtime to see where the mouse is coming from and I also set 10 wooden 'old school' traps with peanut butter on the floor. In the morning the floor looks like a mouse sandbox. There are mouse footprints all over the place and not one trap is snapped... peanut butter is missing on half of the traps. From the flour it does look like maybe they are coming out from under the dishwasher. Ok, I take off work and pull out the dishwasher. No easy job, but this mouse has become public enemy number one.
Once I have the dishwasher removed, I see a hole in the drywall that the builders never patched up. So I patch it up myself. But, no my wife, who has been asking for a new dishwasher, thinks it would be a perfect time to replace the dishwasher since I have it all pulled out. GREAT! This little ball of fur is costing me a fortune already. So after buying a new dishwasher and patching the wall my entire day off is gone and I am not any closer to catching this thing. At night I repeat the routine, spread flour on the floor and set the 10 traps.
Morning comes and peanut butter is gone no traps are snapped and mouse prints all over. The prints still look like they are coming from the dishwasher area, but I find out that it was actually from under the sink area instead. Perfect... so yesterday whole day was for nothing. So I put some steel wool in under the holes where the plumbing comes through the cabinet for the water lines. That night I repeat the same steps, 10 traps, flour...
Morning comes on the fourth day and no footprints, and all the traps still have peanut butter. Okay, so now I know he is not on this floor anymore but probably in the basement area. Down in the basement I see mouse poop. I decide to go to the store and buy more traps and set them out. The next morning none of the traps are snapped but they are missing peanut butter. So now, I am getting angry and decide to go full out. I buy 2 motion activated network cameras with night vision. I place them in the basement floor and have them set to email me whenever it detects motion and records the activity as well.
I know what you all are thinking... but seriously this thing is toying with me.... I had to bring in the technology.
Three days of cameras and not one single email. Of course the peanut butter is missing. I guess the little thing was too small to trip the motion sensor.

NOW, onto this victor electronic mouse trap:
I had to give you the story to appreciate the review of this trap. I finally decide that the wooden snap traps are not going to cut it for this particular mouse. He has obviously been trained in the ancient mouse art of avoiding the snap trap. So I buy two of these electronic mouse traps. I bait them with peanut butter, set them out and get up in the morning to see what I have found. The peanut butter has been eaten and no mouse. WHAT! Are you serious! Yes, I am serious. How could it happen you ask? Well it stuck its little tongue through the holes near the bait area and licked out the peanut butter. Ok, so I read the instructions and it says it is better to place this thing up along the wall. So I decide to also place the back end where the bait section is up against the other wall... basically placing the whole trap into a corner.

SUCCESS! It worked. This electronic mouse trap is exactly what you need. Lets be honest, you are not looking at this thing rightn now unless your normal snap traps are not working. You are at your last resort with this mouse and you just need something to work. Well, this is it... this is the trap you have been waiting for.

I purchased this from Amazon Warehouse Deals. This worked great for about 3 days and killed 4 mice in 2 days (once I located it to a mouse hotspot). After that, when I went to add fresh peanut butter to the trap, the lid hinge broke, and I wasn't forcing the door open or closed. It just broke at the hinge. The door did close, though. But the trap wouldn't arm and display the short blink of the green LED to indicate it was ready. I checked the batteries with a battery tester that puts a small load on the AA battery and they were in almost new state of charge, so it wasn't drained batteries. And if it was, that would be a very short lifespan for them. (There was no peanut butter on the electronic plate either, since I used just a small amount.)

I sent it back for a refund. We also used this mechanical Victor trap beside the electronic one and it was just as successful, but not as humane (I will explain briefly below and also post my review under the appropriate item listing):

    https://www.amazon.com/Victor-M160S-Clean-Kill-Mouse/dp/B012ED37DM/ref=sr_1_15

About their mechanical trap: The mechanical trap I linked to above had as successful a kill rate as the electronic trap, but it still working and it seems that they are more sturdily built. (You get three for $7.49 at the time of this review.) There were two times when I checked the trap and a mouse was caught but struggling to free itself. I had to press hard on the part that presses in on their spine at the "neck" of the mouse to finish it off before emptying it. That is not an issue with this electronic trap, however. Every one was completely dead when I opened the lid to remove the mouse it caught after seeing the blinking green LED which indicates it caught one mouse.

If you get this electronic trap, know ahead of time that you may need to clean it after a catch.

The electronic trap reviewed here looks like a great concept but like its more expensive big brother (according to reviewers of it), it seems to be shoddily made. The more expensive one can kill up to 3 mice before you need to empty it.

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 11, 2015

I had my doubts whether this would work and although I set it up I had to use a peanut with some butter as I don't eat peanut butter. I had cleaned my shed earlier and found that the mice had been hoarding a lot of the bird food stored there. I found piles in wellington boots, folded wallpaper tables and places I never imagined they would put food. I did find one dead mouse spread out like a snow angel among a nest of peanuts so I needed a trap for any others around. They had nested in string in one of the drawers of a cabinet so this needed to stop.

Nothing happened for a couple of months but two days ago (April now) the light showed there was a mouse caught. It must have been quick as there was no sign of anguish for the mouse. It was easy to dispose of and I reset the trap with a hazel nut and some butter to stick it in place. Next day another mouse caught. I wasn't so sure of this one as the light was not as strong and I think I must replace my batteries. The tail sticking out the end of the box was confirmation that it was there and another one gone and the trap reset.

I alter the box position just a little each time but even after the length of time it had been down the box did it's job. My neighbour is complaining about mice ruining things in her garden and I've already recommended this to her.

It's a great success especially at a time when there are likely to be a lot of mice about. A great deterrent and well worth the money.

It's now June 16th 2015 and it is working really well as a further 3 mice have been trapped. You don't need peanut butter as I have trapped the mice with everything from sunflower hearts to almond flakes. If there is food there they just go for it. Easy to dispose of and no trouble to catch. The box is still working on the first batteries so it really is good value for money

Product Description

Victor Electronic Mouse Trap The Victor Electronic Mouse Trap delivers a high-voltage shock to eliminate mice in less than 5 seconds. Killing up to 100 mice per set of batteries (4AA), this trap is a great value. Easy to use, the trap is baited, placed against the wall and turned on. The trap uses advanced smart circuit technology to sense when a rodent enters the units. Once the rodent is inside, the system delivers a humane, high-voltage shock to effectively kill the mouse. A green light blinks to indicate capture and a red light blinks to indicate low batteries. Rodents can be dumped directly into the trash for no-touch, no-view mouse control. The trap features a built-in safety switch that automatically deactivates the trap whenever its door is open.
