Customers like the quality of the hardware clamp vise. They say it holds well once set, is a very stable platform for working on circuit boards, and has rubber feet that hold it securely in place. The basic design is sound, and it helps hold the board in a position you want it to be in to repair or inspect it. It's great for repairs since you can precisely hold the item while using hot air or de-soldering.

Customers like the rotation of the hardware clamp vise. They say the jaws aren't damaged by their use, it swivels to provide easy access to both the top and bottom of the board, and it will not flip or move while soldering. They also appreciate that the boards can easily be spun along the axis to present different access to the pcb. Customers also appreciate the spring tension that allows rotation of board without locking down the thumb screw. Great with added helping hands
This holder was just what I needed for working on my circuit boards. I also ordered two Kotto magnetic adjustable helping hands to go with it. The magnets hold on to the base very firmly. I also went to the dollar store and got a $1 magnifying glass with a plastic frame that I cut the handle off of. I used my soldering iron to melt slots for the alligator clips to slip into to hold it. It work best for that with the rubber teeth guards off. I have found myself using this holder when doing regular soldering jobs also by pushing it forward and using the hands tilting backward.I liked it so much I ordered another with the Kotto helping hands for my brother-in-law !
