After I got the carb installed the saw started first pull. One picture shows the relief hole I cut with a Dremel tool. Another two pictures show the single fuel line on each side of the new carb. Last picture shows the dual fuel ports (in and out) on my original carb. Once I figured where the fuel lines went and slightly bent the wire trigger linkage, the carb installed fine. I didn't think I needed to replace the fuel lines, but all the bending around they started to crack. It was a little hard pushing the new line through the tank hole. What I found worked was cutting a one inch long taper on the hose and pulling and pushing it through. MM

Well nice to have parts for an old saw of mine. Was inspecting my old poulan thats 24 years young. Was running fine when I stored it 20 years ago. Yep 20 years locked in its case in a corner of my basement. Gas lines crumbled as soon as i touched them. Had a fumbly good time putting the lines back in the right place. Had to watch YouTubes on the subject. Nice to have the gaskets carb and 2 filters plus new spark plug. Carb is a little different than the original(Walbro clone) as is needle valve settings and needle valves are different. The old plastic cover did not fit. For now i have left the original carb on as well as original plug. My only concern is the diaphragm on the old carb. Haven’t had the weather or time to try and fire it up. Its a low time saw with new chain. Bought a new Husky Rancher last year. I was doing YouTube reviews when I came across people doing repairs on my Poulan model. Dug it out and found the fuel line issues. Found repair parts on Amazon-nice this stuff is still available and cheap. Next project 30 year old Homelite Bandit weed whacker.

This carb replaced a Walbro WT391 that was in a 2002 Poulan Pro 42cc chainsaw the previous owner gave to me (it gave him a lot of trouble, enough to go electric). The old carb had serious issues and a kit that was not worth picking up, as the kit was within earshot of the price of a new complete carburetor.

This carb is almost close to the old WT391, except for the choke. Had to flip the choke lever upside down (still operates). Without adjusting, it started and ran reliably, though it needed to be slightly adjusted to get the most out of the engine (the high, low jets are slotted--no weird spline garbage to modify, just use a flat-head and tune it). The crazy thing is that the Poulan now cold starts on the first pull, without pulling the choke. Not sure how that happened, but I'll be happy to wear the chainsaw out.

This is not an exact Z-20 replacement. The one shown worked on my Poulan Wild Thing 2375LE however it required some linkage and outlet tube bending and such as they send another style a bit different than shown. While others are having an issue because their Poulan's have both lines on the right side this one shown would be correct for my saw. However the one they send has the outlet line to the primer on the left in a different position and it interferes with the throttle linkage limiting it to about 20% max throttle. After bending the tube and the linkage I finally managed to get it to work. The one shown and the one sent were missing the extension on the diaphragm cover that holds the black rubber adjustment screw gasket though that can be ignored.

Everything on here is on THE WRONG SIDE.
Some Guys say "You Might have to replace the gas lines".
Really YOU Have to put gas lines on here if you don't want it to Pinch.
Which means taking the whole chain saw apart to get to the gas lines.
I'm Refering to the Poulan PP 4218 AVX.

Those Carb. Tune-Up Screws are on the wrong side too. Cut a Hole on the other side.
So if You're into Modification go ahead.
I have done so in the past.
Amazon you get a BIG FAT "F".
Even Had to make my own GASKET.
