Good value
The kit arrived very quickly the next day. As a starter kit it is fine,and practice on the plastic lock is good fun. I have already opened an old Chubb padlock I found. As the kit is quite cheap the pick handles are plastic, and are a little sharp still the edges where the pick goes into the handles. For me this tends to rub and make the finger sore. After taking an emery board to the edges they were better. Over all very good value as a starter kit.

    I purchased this product to add lockpicking to my ever-growing arsenal of skills to impress the ladies. Less importantly, I have more often than not found myself locked out of my flat or lost my keys, which led to extremely costly calls to the local locksmith. The overall build and quality of the tools and lock included in the set are top-notch and very sturdy, with a large variety of tools to cater to locks of various makes and sizes. In addition, the transparent lock was extremely useful in illustrating how the pins work.

    While instructions were not included with the product, I made use of videos online and online manuals to figure out how locks work and in 10 minutes, I managed to pick the lock included in this set. In an hour, through sheer perseverance and patience, I could pick the lock of my table drawer and I am confident it will only be matter of time before I become a skilled lockpicker. I felt that the lack of instructions was a slight drawback to this set but a truly determined individual would be able to figure things out, and I did not deduct a star for this.

    Overall, I am very satisfied with this product, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to upgrade their skillset or tired of frustrating situations.

    The lock is very easy. I opened it within seconds on the first try. I've spent less than an hour messing around with this lock so far and I can open it with all eight picks (so eight times) in under a minute and a half, I can open it behind my back and I can even open it with one hand. Often the lock jumps open just by inserting the tool. But it does serve it's purpose of showing the mechanism and the flaws in my technique very well and it's a cool thing to own. We'll see when I buy another lock how well those skills transfer and how good the picks are. Also, some of the picks are already bent, after less than an hour of use. It is still fun though and I don't regret buying it. Let's just hope the picks are good on other locks too

    Great value if you are interested in learning how small locks work. I have used the kit on other locks and although a bit flimsy still does the job well and has taught me a valuable skill. Learnt how the included padlock worked very quickly and it quickly lost any challenge, however that is not a negative for this product but a positive as it was easy to see how all simile padlocks work and I have had no trouble replicating it on others.

    When I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the picks and the tension bar. However, once I opened the package that contained the lock I was mortified. The lock had completely broken apart. The springs and pins were falling about inside the envelope and the piece of plastic that was supposed to contain them did not fit in the side of the lock properly. Thus, letting all the pins and springs, that I tried to fix, fall back out again. Would not recommend. The only way I would be happy and remove my review now is if I get a refund.

    I ordered this set because I was curious about lock picking. I decided to buy a practice lock after many attempts with real locks had failed. When I received the package I was curious to see how long it would take me to finally be able to crack my first lock! I was expecting it to be somewhat challenging, even with a clear lock.

    It took me all of 30 seconds to get into this lock. It seems to be poorly made, and really, really easy to pick. It has not improved my skill, you can unlock it by merely jiggling any one of the pieces around while you apply some pressure with the "torque wrench". You need no finesse, nor ability to open it.

    The lock pick pieces themselves seem to be decent quality, and give a lot of options, so thats nice. Unfortunately it does not make up for the very, very poor lock that I received.

    Overall I was very disappointed. The picks are of alright quality, but the lock is not. I wouldn't recommend this purchase to anyone trying to learn, it is not even close to simulating a real lock.

    The lock picks are really good, after they came in the post I practiced on one of my locks and after a while I managed to unlock it. Also, not too long ago I managed to lock myself out of a room without a key, I could have easily broke the lock to get through but instead of damaging it, I thought it would be a great opportunity to try out my lock picks for real. After about 15-20 minutes of picking, I got it unlocked! Pretty Cool.

    As for the transparent padlock, it's a bit too easy to unlock in my opinion, but it's good for seeing how everything works in the inside.
