I bought this tire carrier to add a spare to our travel trailer and it mounted easily on the 4 inch square rear bumper. As advertised this carrier will only accommodate up to a 3 inch mounting width so I purchased four 5.5 inch replacement bolts for my application. The provided lug nuts have a conical taper that mated nicely with my wheel which has a 5 bolt 4.5 inch pattern and there was no need to use the provided flat washers and lock washers to mount my spare. The welds on the mount appear to be of good quality and resultant installation with tire installed is very sturdy. Keep in mind that the supplied lug nuts need a 19mm (or standard equivalent) socket/wrench so you'll want to add this to your travel toolkit. I feel much better now that I can travel with a spare tire and all for a very affordable price.
