Bright, Attractive Light With Some Questionable Design Choices

- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2016Style: 168t (Rear Bike Light)Verified PurchaseHaven't had a chance to do more than one short "test ride" with this light yet, but so far, I really enjoy it. Recently got a new bike, and my old taillight's mounting bracket doesn't fit on the new bike... so here I am, the newest owner of a Blitzu Cyborg 168T. I thought my old taillight was good, but this light has surprisingly impressed me with how it surpasses the old one.
The rubberized strap allows the light to fit snugly to nearly any size or shape of bike frame, fork, or even a helmet, with no tools involved. If you have multiple bikes, you can easily move this light from one to another in seconds, rather than minutes. (Of course, that also means it's easy for a thief to remove it in seconds... so if you park your bike somewhere, don't forget to remove this light before you walk away.
The light has several modes -- my old one was just flashing or solid. This light has three solid modes (low, medium, high) and three flashing modes (50% flashing, 100% flashing, strobe). Up close, the difference in solid modes is barely noticeable, and I couldn't tell much of a difference between the flashing modes. Maybe the differences are more noticeable from a distance. In any event, the biggest difference is going to be battery life -- as with any LED light, a blinking setting is going to extend the battery life longer than using a solid mode.
If you take longer rides, battery life may be the light's only drawback. While I love that this has a rechargeable battery, and it recharges via USB, it seems that USB-recharged lights don't last quite as long as AA or AAA battery lights. For example, with my old AAA-battery taillight, I only needed to change batteries once (or sometimes twice) a year, but with these newer USB lights, it's recommended you recharge pretty frequently. But the drawback is softened by the fact this recharges via USB connection and they included a cable. Plug it into a PC, or even any (Android) cell phone wall plug adapter. I only wish the cord provided was slightly longer; as seen in one of my photos, the cord is a bit short, so the light dangles above the shelf rather than being able to rest on it (like my headlight can). But the light barely weighs anything and the cord seems to connect well with the USB port, so the cord doesn't appear to be "strained" in any way.
Looking forward to rejoining my weekly "night ride" group as the weather gets warmer -- and to see how well the light can hold up for those rides (sometimes 2 to 2½ hours).

- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2025Style: 168t (Rear Bike Light)Verified PurchaseI like the 180-degree angle. The brightest view is traffic notices you a large distance from the rear. The options are 6 intensity illumination. Three are flashing/3 fixed. Use high intensity FLASHING, you get longer battery life, and you stand out. I attach 2 for better visibility. The straps for installation are very durable and easy to attach/remove. Negative: The receptacle on the light may collapse and you cannot open and fix it. I buy 2 for this reason. My last purchase was solid 2 years. Other 7 months. I will buy the 200 next. DO NOT buy the front light as a pair. Research VISPROTRAIL by Light Motion. Pricey but worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2018Style: 168t (Rear Bike Light)Verified PurchaseIt's a good, bright bike light.
With how they pitched "attach it to anything" I was expecting a clip type fasten on the back of the light itself, as some lights in the past that I've owned have.
That said, the mount they provide fits "almost any tube you can wrap it around" and may also fit other mounts.
The light runs in two modes and three power settings for each.
The main mode is constant on, accessed by a short tap, and offers Low, Medium, and High power, cycled by short taps.
Auxillary mode is a flasher/strobe, accessed by long-pressing the button. It offers Low, High, and Strobe, again cycled by short taps. Low Flash will likely be the mode I use it the most in.
Long press to turn it back off.
The LEDs themselves are in a COB array across the face of the light, and are quite satisfactorily bright, even at lower powers. Trades blows with my brightest bike tail lights that I've owned. I will likely use Low Flash the most on my bike.
A small LED on top monitors your battery power. It flashes when you're charging, and goes out when done. When the light's running, the LED is steady on, and begins flashing when your battery is low. Charge current is too low for most USB power banks to be able to fully charge.
A tight fitting dustcap protects the micro-B USB port when you aren't using it to recharge it. It looks like it can withstand a rainstorm, but I wouldn't trust it with immersion.
Update: I've had the light for a little while now, and I can confidently attest to its durability.
It handled day to day cycling without a single problem for about a week.
Then my house was damaged by Hurricane Michael, and despite being literally hit by a hurricane and being struck by debris, the light still works without a problem.
I feel confident that it will last the service life of its battery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb quality
Style: 168h (Front Bike Light)Verified PurchaseI purchased these lights a few years ago,
Red for the back white for the front.
The quality is outstanding but to my surprise the white light in the front suddenly stopped working after about one season of use.
Probably the rechargeable battery is the problem but I am disappointed that it is not serviceable.
Also noticed the price of these lights have gone up incredibly high compared to what I paid for them.
I do recommend this light but shop around you can find lights of the same quality at a lower price.
