Bagel Function

Bagel Setting heats the upper half of the bagel only for a crispy top and a soft, chewy bottom...the way a bagel should be!

If you enjoy a bagel that is crispy on both sides, no need to engage the bagel button. Just toast it like you would a normal piece of bread without pressing the bagel button.

Shade Control Setting

Shade control setting offers a full range of browning options to allow perfect customization of any piece of bread. Use the following settings for:

- Settings 1-2: light shade of toast

- Settings 3-4: medium shade of toast

Extra Wide Slots

1.5" toaster slots allow for a wide variety of items to be toasted with the Cuisinart Compact Toaster. items such as:

High Lift Lever

When your bread is finished toasting, the toaster carriage pops up. Sometimes the size of the bread may prevent the bread for popping clear out of the toaster.

Cuisinart offers a "HI Lift" lever that allows the user to boost the lever upwards, thus lifting the bread clear out of the unit for easy removal from the toaster with your fingers.

Dual Independent Toasting Controls

Two separate control panels allow you to toast two sets of toast (2 slices each) for you and somebody else.

Cuisinart Metal Classic Toaster. Cuisinart's Metal Classic Toaster has a smooth brushed stainless housing with polished chrome and black accents. Its custom controls let you defrost and toast bagels and bread -- just the way you want them Press any of the four buttons, bagels, reheat, defrost and cancel, to fit your toasting needs. The browning control sets the desired toast color from light to dark, with six browning levels. Product Features Smooth brushed stainless housing with polished chrome and black accents Custom control: 6-setting browning dials, dual reheat, defrost and bagel buttons with LED indicators 1-1/2-inch wide toasting slots Extra-lift carriage lever Slide-out crumb tray Convenient cord wrap Instruction book Limited 3-year warranty Toasting Tips Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying of the bread. Therefore, differences in moisture level from one bread to another can result in varying toasting times. For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would. For very fresh bread or whole wheat bread, use a higher setting than normal. Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English muffins) will require a higher toast setting. Thickly cut pieces of bread (including bagels) will take longer to toast, sometimes significantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles. Cleaning and Maintenance Always allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleansers. Simply wipe the exterior with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Apply any cleansing agent to a cloth, not to the toaster, before cleaning. To remove crumbs, slide out the crumb tray and discard crumbs. Wipe clean and replace. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place. To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the toaster upside down and gently shake. Never insert any hard or sharp instruments into the slot, as this could damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard. Never wrap the cord around the outside of the toaster. I have already tried the new toaster, a Cuisinart CPT 160, and it isn't good. Doesn't toast the same on both sides of the bread. One side of the bread is very dark and burned on the three setting, while the other side is normal; that's with two slices toasted. The lever on the toaster sometimes has to be pushed down hard to get it to stick. The dial to set toasting darkness is flimsy and hard to get it to stay at one spot. These are similar to complaints of other reviewers. Also, the base of the toaster and bottom is plastic, instead of metal like the sides. So I will be in the market for a new toaster. Will try a different brand. This has some of the same problems at my previous Cuisinart CPT 415 that I had to throw away recently because the lever no longer stayed down and wouldn't engage for it to toast even if I held the lever down. Cuisinart never responded to me about a warranty. No one answers their phones. Also, on my new toaster, the bagel button just makes it toast longer. And it doesn't toast only the inside of a cut bagel as my old, higher end Cuisinart did. And the defrost button just toasts longer and doesn't defrost and then toast like my previous toaster. And the reheat button just toasts for a short time instead of reheating and not toasting. So the temperature control is no good. And not easy to use. The stainless steel metal doesn't seem to be as solid as on my old toaster and it shows fingerprints. So constantly have to clean it. I have read a lot of reviews of toasters and they all have negatives, especially not toasting evenly and the lever malfunctioning. Old toasters didn't used to have these problems. The new ones aren't made as well as the old ones, like a lot of other products such as cars. Also, this toaster is not a good value for the money because of these issues. It looks good, but that's about it. And it has a crumb tray. Cuisinart used to be a very good brand, but its quality has declined. It's owned by Conair Corp. UPDATE: It's still working after a year, so I upgraded the stars from two to three. My main complaint is the lever often won't stay down unless you push it extra hard.

The knobs feel extremely cheap so I'm sure they will be the first thing to break, but you can easily epoxy them back in place with 5-minute 2-part epoxy when that happens. This was the best good functioning toaster I could find for under $50 and it has been working great every day for over 6mos so far using it for home made bread, bagels, and even frozen hashbrown patties which require 3 toasting cycles, turing them over and/or around each cycle to get more even browning.

Already have used it three times and it has toasted bread, English muffins, and waffles to your perfection. This toaster is solidly built love the stainless steel, classic look, and being that it’s not digital is key, because they tend to fail out after a couple years.

Toaster is slightly larger than your typical four slotted toaster. So make sure that you have room for this if you’re stowing it away in a cabinet. The size does matter if you have a small kitchen. Some mainly put it on the countertop where others put it away. Luckily, we have the room, but I had to move and shift some things around the cabinet in order to stow it away properly.

Heats up quick, does a phenomenal job. We have a few of the Cuisinart Brands. Some have been wonderful, and some not that great….

As of now, it’s a hit. Paddles are solid, locks down easily when dropping the bread in the slots without shoving it down to make sure your items are toasted evenly. Lots of room for Texas toast and browns easily without having to hit the cycle twice. If you set it properly, it will toast it right one time.,,Not much more else to say. Great value! Good Luck!

I love toast but it's not complicated for me so I like how simple this toaster is. Toasts bagels perfectly on the bagel setting. The darkest setting never seems to be long enough for English muffins so I just push down again for more time. Only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because the manufacturing seems to be a bit cheaper over the years. We bought this exact model almost 4 years ago and the lever and spring mechanism was more solid. This new one works well but feels a bit fragile. Our cat broke the last one by the way (don't ask) or we'd still have it.

I am extremely disappointed with this toaster; it burns the bread even with the medium/low settings. I bought it because I only have an oven toaster, which is extremely good at toasting bread. The bread comes out evenly toasted and simply perfect. However, it is a large oven toaster/Air Fryer, and too big for just a couple of pieces of toast once a day. I only used this new toaster once, three times in a row, trying to find the perfect setting for a nicely toasted bread. I never did. It burnt every time. And it doesn’t even burn evenly, only parts of the slice of bread. It tasted awful. So, I put it away. I continue to use my oven toaster/Air Fryer. What I find interesting is that the oven toaster is the same brand as this toaster—a Cuisinart! I would not buy this toaster again or recommend it to anyone.

We just came into a few dollars and our toaster crapped out. So, I found this one on Amazon at a great price. It's a known brand that makes good machines, why not?

Omg, y'all!!! First, I feel all growed up. 😂 I've got a pretty stainless toaster that blends wonderfully in my stainless kitchen appliances. Second, I can make toast for my wife and myself at the same time so we can finally eat breakfast together as she prefers. I typically make her meal and mine at the same time but put hers together first. That way I can bring it to her and set mine up quick. No need with a 4 slot toaster. I can bring both our meals in to the room together.

(That's right, Ladies, I'm a kept man so I bring my lovely wife dinner in bed after she gets home from work, most nights. Find yourself a man who does the same, we're loving and loyal.)

Third and final thing to note about this fantastic toaster! Idk what kind of super coil technology they are using but toasted items are more crisp. Omg English Muffins TASTE better! It brings out the nuttiness in a nice piece of whole grain toasted bread. I never knew that a better toaster would make the end product taste SO MUCH BETTER. Now I do.

Pay a few bucks more. This manufacturer nailed it, this toaster is amazing. And easy to clean. 👍No regerts. Know why I mean?

From a distance, it’s a good-looking toaster. But the heat control is cheap-looking and somewhat flimsy. However, it toasts perfectly! Much better than the crap heavy-duty restaurant quality Proctor Silex, which crapped out after five years. We own a lot of Cruisinart products, and generally they make good stuff. This is obviously created for the budget market (as if $40 for a toaster was some kind of bargain), but my guess is it’ll probably last forever. Flimsy controls or no, it does the job, and really that’s all we can expect.
