Chalk arrived as promised and none were cracked or broken. We've used this product before and are highly satisfied with the quality of the chalk and the color tones. My academically advanced pre-school aged child has autism and uses the washable chalk to write numbers and words on the walls. I've been able to clean the product off of paint and sealed wood with soap and water, and it has not stained any of his (or our) clothes. Also works well for its intended purpose (asphalt/sidewalks) and, again, easy to wash away with either a little soap and water from a bucket (great way to get a kid to clean up after self and save some water) or with a spray or two of the hose. When we opened the six sets of 4 chalks, it made a great real-life learning opportunity to discuss multiplication as well. He is currently working on other sets of chalk that equal 24, which is great to observe. Great product that is perfect for a child like mine.

Great chalk but I wish there was more variety in the colors
I wouldn't call these "bold and bright", a few of the colors are, but most are more of a pastel color. Also, the box came with 5 shades of pinks/reds, 5 shades of blues and 5 shades of orange, 3 yellows, but only one green and one purple. Why not a darker green and purple? It seems uneven to me. There is a black, brown and white too. However, other then that odd color variety the chalk has great texture and washes off easy. The big sticks are great for toddlers because they are sturdy. (As you can see in my picture, I broke one because I pressed down way too hard, that's my fault). Overall good buy. Maybe the bigger boxes have more colors.
