I’m not super duper positive that the bugs were actually eggs in the food pellets, but so far I haven’t seen any of those flies since I pulled it out of the freezer.     My turtle enjoyed these at the start but got over them quickly . Good size container for the price , I won’t buy again though I’ll stick to other brands that my turtle eats
